If you're searching for a touch of French charm right in the heart of Los Angeles, look no further than République Café Bakery & République Restaurant. Nestled at 624 S La Brea Ave, this modern French establishment serves as both a vibrant café and an elegant dinner venue, offering a delightful feast for the senses at any hour.

As you step inside, you're greeted by stunning architectural details that marry modern design with classic Parisian elegance. The ambiance is warm and inviting—perfect for an intimate dinner, a lively brunch with friends, or a peaceful coffee break during the rush of the day. The inviting atmosphere is complemented by a spacious layout, where guests can easily find their own spot, especially during busier hours.

République excels in its culinary offerings, boasting an impressive selection of freshly baked goods and exquisite dishes that reflect the essence of French cuisine. The bakery alone is a visual feast, featuring an array of pastries that beckon to be sampled. Don’t miss the traditional croissants ($6), each buttery layer folding perfectly, or the pain au chocolat ($6), which oozes rich chocolate delight with every bite. For something unique, the miso white chocolate almond croissant ($6.75) presents an adventurous twist that is both sweet and savory.

Diving into the breakfast menu, the Avocado Toast ($21) is a standout, marrying vibrant flavors of yuzu and radish with creamy avocado atop perfectly toasted bread. Or opt for their Belgian Waffle ($21) served with seasonal farmers' market berries and Vermont maple syrup—a dish that’s more like a sweet embrace to start your day on a high note. For traditionalists, the BLT Benedict comes highly recommended, with its combination of Neuske’s applewood smoked bacon and a velvety Calabrian chili hollandaise sauce that dances on the palate.

While brunch is a major draw, the dinner service transforms the space into a sophisticated dining locale. With a menu that showcases fresh, seasonal ingredients, you're assured a meal crafted with intention and care. Customers rave about dishes like the corn beignet and the Maine lobster omelette, both of which encapsulate the artfully prepared, flavor-packed offerings that define the restaurant.

Don’t just take our word for it. Diners like Shawn Sheng and Z z have echoed the sentiments of delight and satisfaction, highlighting the exceptional service and atmosphere that make République not just a meal, but a full experience. Whether you’re grabbing a quick pastry on the go or settling in for a lovely dinner surrounded by the charm of the space, République delivers consistently rewarding experiences.

So, whether you’re a local or just visiting the City of Angels, make sure to include République Café Bakery & République Restaurant on your list. With its quintessential blend of ambiance, delicious food, and artistic pastries, it offers a unique tasting journey that you won’t soon forget.

No wonder this place is one of the most popular spots in all of LA. During the day they operate as a cafe and amazing brunch spot, and in the evening become a fancy dinner restaurant. The bakery selection is incredible, and everything looks so good. They also have a regular menu with food and drink options. The interior is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, grand architecture and plenty of space in a bustling environment. Despite the chaos they keep things very efficient and operating smoothly. The food was wonderful, everything we got was delicious. Definitely worth checking out, be sure to go early to avoid a long wait time.

République is one of the few trendy spots in LA that actually lived up to the hype — no disappointment here! We came in with high expectations, and it truly delivered. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful — warm, vibrant, and full of charm . The food was just as impressive as the space! We ordered the Eggs Benedict and the Chia Seed Bowl, and both were excellent . The flavors were light yet well-balanced — exactly what you’d want from a quality brunch. It felt like a perfect, peaceful way to start the day . We also tried one of their freshly baked cinnamon rolls (I think that’s the name — pictured here ), and it was super soft, fragrant, and not overly sweet — just right! Definitely a place I’d return to, whether for brunch, pastries, or just to enjoy the space with a coffee. Highly recommend!

I came here on a Friday morning for breakfast with friends. My friend said there is usually a line for this place but there was a short line so we really didn’t wait too long. They have menus as soon as you enter so you can decide what to order. They also have a counter covered in all sorts of pastries so you order those first then your food. When you order food they give you a cup with a number associate with your order. Then you can choose to sit anywhere. The architecture is quite lovely and it makes you feel like you are in a small French street eating outside. I think they have a patio/ Terrance seating but I just saw the sign for it. The food was really good and filling. The pastries were also very good. For my eggs Benedict, mocha and three pastries I paid a little over $50. The prices are on the higher side but if you don’t mind the prices then I highly recommend this place.

République is an amazing brunch spot! The pastries are an absolute must—everything from the croissants to the seasonal specials is top-notch. Honestly, anything you order will be magnificent. I especially love the French toast and the omelette, they’re both standouts. The atmosphere is beautiful. Definitely one of my favorite places for brunch in LA!

Very cute and picturesque location with an amazing history. Great for breakfast/brunch/lunch but don't be intimidated by the line. The staff move very quickly to get guests in. Must get some desserts and breads to go to prolong the food experience. Dine it food was delicious. The French influence on the dishes showcase simple and fresh ingredients. Note, they only take reservations for dinner.

Dining here is all about the ingredients, meticulously sourced and skillfully prepared. On a busy Friday night, the accommodation for a non-reservation was the first hint of the exceptional service to come. I was seated beneath the glass-paneled roof with sunset light fading above me. It felt like Europe. The service is a benchmark of excellence: attentive, communicative, polite. The corn beignet arrives looking like something too precious to eat, literally served on a silver platter, but you’ll devour it in one bite, maybe two. The oysters are next, clean, cool, briny, and balanced by the acidity of the mignonette. Then there’s the endive salad, precision, thoughtful composition with each element intentional. The corn agnolotti is tender pasta pillows bathed in rich brown butter, then crowned tableside with a drizzle of cherry balsamic. For my main, the duck offers varied textures from different cuts, each bite elevated by the blackberry peppercorn jus. The fries, yes, fries, deserve their moment: hot, crisp, herby. For dessert, the reimagined crème brûlée with tropical notes of mango and pandan layered under that crackled top. République knows what it’s doing. Every moment considered. Every plate thoughtful. This is L.A. dining at its peak, proving that the best dining experiences don’t need the beach surrounded by the sound of crashing waves or the sight of swaying palm trees.

It's a perfect place to bring a tourists for a coffee pastery stop on the way exploring Hollywood. It's hreat if you are in that area and trying to have a delicious treat in a hostorical place. The old down side is the seating arrangment where you just need to find a seat on your own. We were lucky to arrive at a time were the line was not too long.

Loved République. Had the French toast and I had no idea how huge it was. It was delicious and definitely big enough for two to share. The syrup was good and not sickly sweet. Also had the Maine lobster omelette which was to die for. Huge portion also but absolutely delicious. I’d definitely recommend both these options. Loved their cathedral like space with their bench seating. Keep in mind the seating will have you sat with other customers.
